Datu or datto is the title for the head of a clan or king in the Philippines before it was colonized by Spain. This title is still used by their descendants in the Philippines. Sehingga datu maknanya sama dengan Raja. Selanjutnya kata datu ini berubah penuturan menjadi "datuk", suatu gelaran yang masih digunakan di Malaysia, Brunei dan Indonesia. Mitos kedatangan 10 orang datu dari Borneo diraikan setiap tahun di Perayaan Binirayan di Pulau Panay, yang pada zaman silam dikenali sebagai "Aninipay".
