Woluta

Scroll, scroll - architectural element and ornamental motif in the form of a spiral or scroll. Occurs in the head of columns in Greek and Roman architecture. As an ornament he performed in Assyrian, Persian. During the renaissance and baroque, in buildings modeled on antique style. The scroll is the most important element of the escutcheon. A special case of the scroll is the flow of the scroll. The sloop is a side, decorated decoratively, some of the sacral buildings - churches or chapels. The introduction of rafts allowed for a harmonious combination of the narrower upper part of the upper story with a wider floor of the ground. Used in the late Renaissance, especially popular in the Baroque. Woluta, ślimacznica – element architektoniczny i motyw ornamentacyjny w formie spirali lub zwoju. Występuje w głowicach kolumn w architekturze greckiej i rzymskiej. Jako ozdoba występował w sztuce asyryjskiej, perskiej. W okresie renesansu i baroku, w budowlach wzorowanych na stylu antycznym. Woluta stanowi najważniejszy element esownicy. Szczególnym przypadkiem ślimacznicy są spływy wolutowe. Spływ to boczna, dekoracyjnie poprowadzona, część szczytów budowli sakralnych – kościołów czy kaplic. Wprowadzenie spływów pozwalało na harmonijne połączenie węższej części górnej kondygnacji z szerszą kondygnacją przyziemia. Stosowane w późnym renesansie, szczególnie popularne w baroku.
