Anion

Ânion

An anion or anion is a negatively charged ion. They are amethals that bind to metals forming the ionic bond, when in bond, these amethals, because they have high electronegativity, tend to attract electrons from the metal with which it is binding, so that metal becomes a cation, because it loses electrons and this amethal becomes an anion, because it gains electrons. Examples: nitrate and fluoride. An anionic surfactant is a surfactant, such as a surfactant that has one or more functional groups that ionized in aqueous solution produces organic ions that have negative electrical charge and are responsible for the modification of surface tension. The most popular representatives of this classification are fatty acid soaps, such as sodium oleate and sodium palmitate, two soaps, which when ionized in solution, produce electronegatively loaded oleate and palmitate anions, and sodium cations.
