Greva

Greva is a component of the ancient armor, which was used as protection for the shins and top of the knee. They could be bronze, iron or even leather. The greaves were possibly from the early thirteenth century. Tied in cinnamon by leather straps or buckles, the semi-greaves were improved in the late 14th century, where they added another plate was placed, now ensuring the knee's physical integrity until the end of the cinnamon. In Ancient Greece, the pair of greaves that equipped the hoplita denominated cnémide. It was made of brass, brass, silver or gold and had a leather or felt lining. References Smith, 1857, p. 676.
