Eclampsia

Eclampsia or Eclampsia is pregnancy-specific hypertension. It produces a number of pregnancy complications and is preceded by pre-eclampsia. It is an acute paroxysmal accident of gravidica toxemia. It consists of repeated attacks of convulsions followed by a comatose state. Seizures may occur before, during, or after delivery, although cases of eclampsia with only 20 weeks of pregnancy have been reported. It is preceded by the cortege of symptoms that constitute eclampismo: increase of albuminuria, persistent headaches, hypertension, edema, oliguria, dizziness, tinnitus, fatigue, drowsiness and vomiting.
