Ousia

Ousia is a noun of the Greek language formed from the feminine of the present participle of seeing "to be", εἶναι, einai. The word is sometimes translated into Portuguese as substance or essence, because of its vulgar translation into Latin as substantia or essentia. It is a term used in Philosophy and Theology. Ousía é um substantivo da língua grega formado a partir do feminino do particípio presente do ver "ser", εἶναι, einai. A palavra é, por vezes, traduzida para português como substância ou essência, devido à sua vulgar tradução para latim como substantia ou essentia. É termo utilizado em Filosofia e em Teologia.
