The hippie, the way of life is actually a foundation that sets the foundations of today's absolute retribution. It is an apolitical view that acknowledges that the Earth belongs to all the plants, animals and people on it. It is a libertarian movement that never limits them, rejecting all existing authorities, defending their communal life. It is a lifestyle that opposes the communist and fascist structures of the period in the 1960s, which argues that freedom is within the individual, but which is separated from its anarchist way of thinking by its practices and into the real life. The word hippie refers to a young man or woman in the US who is between the middle and the end of the sixties, from the middle of the adult age to the age of thirty. Hippies are more often called "freaks"; that is, "drug addicts." The word probably came from the hip, which is a shortened hipster, living in black gettas, and the hippies do not have any political parties or movements related to drugs.

Hippi, yaşam tarzı aslında bugünkü mutlak retçiliğin temellerini atan bir oluşumdur. Dünyanın üzerindeki tüm bitki, hayvan ve insanlara ait olduğunu kabul eden apolitik bir görüştür. Kendilerine asla sınır koymayan, var olan tüm yetkilileri reddeden, komün hayatını savunan özgürlükçü bir harekettir. 1960'lı yıllarda dönemin komünist ve faşist yapılanmalarına karşı çıkan, özgürlüğün bireyin kendi içinde olduğunu savunan ancak uygulamaları ile anarşist düşünce tarzından ayrılan, düşünce biçiminin gerçek yaşama dönüştüğü bir yaşam tarzıdır. Hippi sözcüğü ABD'de altmışlı yılların ortaları ve sonu arasında yer alan genç bir erkeği ya da kadını yetişkin yaşın ortalarından otuzlu yaşlara kadar kadar belirtir. Hippiler daha çok "freaks" diye adlandırılır; yani "uyuşturucu müptelaları. Sözcük büyük bir olasılıkla hipster'in kısaltılması olan, zenci gettolarında yaşayan "hip" ten gelmiştir. Hippilerin herhangi bir siyasal parti veya da hareketle ilişkileri yoktur. Uyuşturucular, müzik ve cinsellik hippi kültürünün içinde elele yürümeye başlamıştı.
