Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac El OM FRS era un físico teórico inglés que hizo contribuciones fundamentales al desarrollo temprano de la mecánica cuántica y de la electrodinámica cuántica. Fue profesor Lucasian de Matemáticas en la Universidad de Cambridge, miembro del Centro de Estudios Teóricos de la Universidad de Miami, y pasó la última década de su vida en la Universidad Estatal de Florida. Entre otros descubrimientos, formuló la ecuación de Dirac, que describe el comportamiento de los fermiones y predijo la existencia de la antimateria.
