Disgust

El disgusto es una respuesta emocional de repulsión a algo considerado ofensivo o desagradable. En la expresión de las emociones en el hombre y los animales, Charles Darwin escribió que el disgusto es una sensación que se refiere a algo repugnante. El disgusto se experimenta principalmente en relación con el sentido del gusto, y secundariamente a cualquier cosa que cause una sensación similar por olfato, tacto o visión. Las personas sensibles a la música pueden incluso sentirse disgustadas por la cacofonía de sonidos desarmoniosos. Investigación continuamente ha demostrado una relación entre el disgusto y los trastornos de ansiedad como la arachnophobia, la sangre de inyección de tipo de lesión fobias, y la contaminación miedo relacionados con el trastorno obsesivo-compulsivo. Musically sensitive people may even be disgusted by the cacophony of inharmonious sounds. Research continually has proven a relationship between disgust and anxiety disorders such as arachnophobia, blood-injection-injury type phobias, and contamination fear related obsessive–compulsive disorder. Disgust is one of the basic emotions of Robert Plutchik's theory of emotions and has been studied extensively by Paul Rozin. It invokes a characteristic facial expression, one of Paul Ekman's six universal facial expressions of emotion. Unlike the emotions of fear, anger, and sadness, disgust is associated with a decrease in heart rate.
