Impresión offset
La impresión offset o impresión offset en banda es una técnica de impresión comúnmente utilizada en la que la imagen entintada se transfiere de una placa a una manta de caucho, luego a la superficie de impresión. Cuando se utiliza en combinación con el proceso litográfico, que se basa en la repulsión de aceite y agua, la técnica de desplazamiento emplea un soporte de imagen plano en el que la imagen a imprimir obtiene tinta de los rodillos de tinta, mientras que la zona de no impresión atrae agua , Manteniendo las áreas de no impresión libres de tinta. El proceso moderno de la "red" alimenta una bobina grande del papel a través de una máquina grande de la prensa en varias porciones, típicamente por varios metros, que después imprime continuamente como el papel es alimentado a través. El desarrollo de la prensa offset se produjo en dos versiones: En 1875 por Robert Barclay de Inglaterra para imprimir en estaño, y en 1904 por Ira Washington Rubel de los Estados Unidos para imprimir en papel.
