Simulacro
Un simulacro, es una representación o imitación de una persona o cosa. La palabra fue grabada por primera vez en el idioma inglés a finales del siglo XVI, utilizada para describir una representación, como una estatua o una pintura, especialmente de un dios. A finales del siglo XIX, había reunido una asociación secundaria de inferioridad: una imagen sin la sustancia o cualidades del original. El filósofo Fredric Jameson ofrece el fotorrealismo como un ejemplo de simulacro artístico, donde a veces se crea una pintura copiando una fotografía que es una copia del real. Otras formas de arte que juegan con simulacros incluyen trompe l'oeil, pop art, neorrealismo italiano y French New Wave.
