पास भिजवा दिया । पर राजा शाल्व ने उसे ग्रहण न किया
और वह हताश होकर भीष्म से बदला लेने के लिये तप करने
लगी । शिव जो इसपर प्रसन्न हुए और उसे वर दिया कि तू
दूसरे जन्म मे बदला लेगी । यही दूसरे जन्म में शिखंड़ी हुई
जिसके कारण भीष्म मारे गए ।
५. ससुर खदेरी नदी ।
विशेष— यह नदी फतेहपुर के पास निकलकर प्रयाग से थोड़ी दूर
पर यमुना में मिली है । ऐसी कथा है कि यह वही काशिराज की बड़ी कन्या अबा है, जो गंगा के शाप से नदी होकर
भागी थी ।
