किसी स्त्री की वह संतान जो उसके जार
या उपपति से उत्पन्न हुई हो । दोगली संतति ।
विशेष—धर्मशस्त्रों में जारज संतान दो प्रकार के माने गए हैं । जो
संतान स्त्री के विवाहित पति के जीवनकाल में उसके उपपत्ति
से उत्पन्न हो वह 'कुंड' और जो विवाहित पति के मर जाने
पर उत्पन्न हो वह 'मोलक' कहलाती है । हिंदु धर्मशास्त्रानुसार
जारज पुत्र किसी प्रकार के धर्म कार्य या पिंडदान आदि
का अधिकारी नहीं होता ।
