La fibula o l'osso del vitello è un osso gamba posto sul lato laterale della tibia, con cui è collegato sopra e sotto. È la più piccola delle due ossa, e, proporzionalmente alla sua lunghezza, la più sottile di tutte le ossa lunghe. L'estremità superiore è piccola, posizionata verso la parte posteriore della testa della tibia, al di sotto del livello del ginocchio e esclusa dalla formazione di questo giunto. L'estremità inferiore si snoda un po 'in avanti, in modo da essere su un piano anteriore a quello dell'estremità superiore; Si estende sotto la tibia e forma la parte laterale del giunto della caviglia.
