La polarità nelle relazioni internazionali è uno dei vari modi in cui il potere è distribuito all'interno del sistema internazionale. Descrive la natura del sistema internazionale in un determinato periodo di tempo. Si distingue generalmente quattro tipi di sistemi: unipolarità, bipolarità, tripolarità e multipolarità per quattro o più centri di potere. Il tipo di sistema è completamente dipendente dalla distribuzione del potere e dell'influenza degli stati in una regione o globalmente.
