Un tastierino numerico, numpad o dieci chiavi, è la piccola sezione di dimensioni palmari, diciassette, di una tastiera del computer, di solito a estrema destra. Il tastierino numerico è dotato di cifre da 0 a 9, simboli di aggiunta, sottrazione, moltiplicazione e divisione, un punto decimale e tasti Num Lock e Enter. Le tastiere del computer portatile spesso non dispongono di un numpad, ma possono fornire l'ingresso numpad tenendo premuto un tasto di modifica e tasti operativi sulla tastiera standard. I computer portatili particolarmente grandi possono avere spazio per un vero e proprio numpad, e molte aziende vendono numpad separati che si collegano al computer host tramite una connessione USB. Fornisce anche una tastiera in stile calcolatrice per un efficiente inserimento dei numeri. Le tastiere numeriche di solito funzionano in due modi: quando il Num Lock è spento, i tasti 8, 6, 2, 4 agiscono come i tasti freccia e 7, 9, 3, 1 agiscono come Home, PgUp, PgDn e End; Quando è attiva la funzione Num Lock, le cifre digitali producono le cifre corrispondenti. Nei computer Apple Macintosh, che non dispongono di un tasto Num Lock, il tastierino numerico produce sempre solo numeri. Il tasto Num Lock è sostituito dal tasto Clear.

A numeric keypad, numpad or ten key, is the small, palm-sized, seventeen key section of a computer keyboard, usually on the very far right. The numeric keypad features digits 0 to 9, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division symbols, a decimal point and Num Lock and Enter keys. Laptop keyboards often do not have a numpad, but may provide numpad input by holding a modifier key and operating keys on the standard keyboard. Particularly large laptops may have space for a real numpad, and many companies sell separate numpads which connect to the host laptop by a USB connection. It also provides a calculator-style keyboard for efficient entering of numbers. Numeric keypads usually operate in two modes: when Num Lock is off, keys 8, 6, 2, 4 act like arrow keys and 7, 9, 3, 1 act like Home, PgUp, PgDn and End; when Num Lock is on, digits keys produce corresponding digits. On Apple Macintosh computers, which lack a Num Lock key, the numeric keypad always produces only numbers. The Num Lock key is replaced by the Clear key.
