Uno stellaratore è un dispositivo utilizzato per limitare un plasma caldo con campi magnetici al fine di sostenere una reazione di fusione nucleare controllata. È uno dei più antichi dispositivi di fusione controllati, inventato per la prima volta da Lyman Spitzer nel 1950 e costruito l'anno successivo a quello che poi è diventato il Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory.
