Definisi dakwa dalam kamus Melayu
dakwa aduan yg dikemukakan di mahkamah; kena ~ dituntut dlm perkara; ~-dakwi berbagai-bagai aduan; berdakwa sl 1. sedang dlm pembicaraan, berbicara: maka Naina Sura Dewana pun ~ dgn Raja Mendaliar; 2. sedang dlm urusan perkara, sedang menghadapi tuntutan, berperkara: kerana sebab ~ ini tuan hamba mengupah hamba; mendakwa 1. mengemukakan tuduhan terhadap seseorang dll ke mahkamah, mengemukakan di mahkamah: sesiapa sahaja yg melanggar undang-undang negara boleh didakwa di mahkamah; 2. mengatakan atau mengemukakan sesuatu sbg satu kenyataan atau kebenaran, mengaku: orang Quraisy ~ agama merekalah yg benar; mereka ~ telah melihat beberapa orang awam ditembak mati oleh pemberontak itu; mendakwai menuntut; mendakwakan menuntut, menuduhkan; terdakwa orang atau pihak yg didakwa; dakwaan 1. tuduhan yg dikemukakan utk diadili: sesuatu ~ terhadap perbuatan jenayah dimajukan oleh Jabatan Peguam Negara atau pihak polis; 2. sesuatu ygdikatakan supaya diterima sbg satu kenyataan atau kebenaran: beliau membuat ~ tentang kemenangan pasukan tenteranya itu dlm satu sidang akhbar; pendakwaan perbuatan mendakwa, pengemukaan sesuatu dakwaan: Inspektor Ali telah melakukan ~ terhadap Busu; pendakwa yg mendakwa: pihak ~ dijangka akan memanggil lebih drpd 20 orang saksi; ~ raya pegawai yg mendakwa bagi pihak kerajaan.
