Schutzstaffel (wymowa niemiecka: (posłuchaj), przetłumaczona na eskadrę ochronną lub korpus obronny, zwaną SS lub stylizowanymi runami sigma "Armanena") była organizacją paramilitarną pod Adolfem Hitlerem i partią nazistowską (NSDAP). Zaczęło się pod koniec 1920 r.
