Durometer é uma das várias medidas da dureza de um material. A dureza pode ser definida como a resistência de um material à indentação permanente. A escala de durómetro foi definida por Albert F. Shore, que desenvolveu um dispositivo de medição para medir a dureza Shore na década de 1920. O termo "durómetro" é freqüentemente usado para se referir à medida, bem como ao próprio instrumento. O drímetro é tipicamente usado como medida de dureza em polímeros, elastômeros e borrachas.
