Glomerulus
No rim, uma estrutura tubular chamada Nephron filtra o sangue para formar urina. No início do néphron, o glomerulus / ɡlɒmɛrələs / é uma rede de capilares que executa o primeiro passo de filtragem de sangue. O glomérulo é cercado pela cápsula de Bowman. O plasma sanguíneo é filtrado através dos capilares do glomérulo para dentro da cápsula de Bowman. A cápsula de Bowman esvazia o filtrado em um túbulo que também faz parte do néphron.
