Unidade prosódica
Na linguística, uma unidade prosódica, muitas vezes chamada de unidade de entonação ou frase intonacional, é um segmento de fala que ocorre com um único contorno prosódico. A abreviatura IU é usada e, portanto, a forma completa é freqüentemente encontrada como unidade de entonação, apesar do fato de que, tecnicamente, é uma unidade de prosodia em vez de entonação, que é apenas um elemento da prosódia. As unidades prosódicas ocorrem em uma hierarquia de níveis, desde o pé métrico e palavra fonológica até um enunciado completo. No entanto, o termo é geralmente restrito a níveis intermediários que não possuem uma terminologia dedicada.
