Knockout

Um nocaute é um critério de final de luta, vencedor em vários esportes de combate de contato completo, como boxe, kickboxing, Muay Thai, artes marciais mistas, karaté e outros esportes que envolvem impressionantes. Um nocaute completo é considerado qualquer greve ou combinação legal que torne um oponente incapaz de continuar a lutar. O termo é freqüentemente associado a uma súbita perda de consciência traumática causada por um golpe físico. Solos golpes poderosos na cabeça podem produzir uma concussão cerebral ou um reflexo do seio carotídeo com o Syncope e causar um KO súbito e dramático. Os golpes do corpo, particularmente o soco no fígado, podem causar dor progressiva e debilitante que também pode resultar em um KO. No boxe, kickboxing, etc., um nocaute geralmente é premiado quando um participante cai na tela e não consegue levantar-se em um período de tempo específico, geralmente por causa do esgotamento, dor, desorientação ou inconsciência. Por exemplo, se um boxeador é derrubado e é incapaz de continuar a luta dentro de uma contagem de dez segundos, ele é contado como sendo nocauteado e seu oponente é premiado com a vitória do KO.

A knockout is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts, Karate and other sports involving striking. A full knockout is considered any legal strike or combination thereof that renders an opponent unable to continue fighting. The term is often associated with a sudden traumatic loss of consciousness caused by a physical blow. Single powerful blows to the head can produce a cerebral concussion or a Carotid sinus reflex with Syncope and cause a sudden, dramatic KO. Body blows, particularly the liver punch, can cause progressive, debilitating pain that can also result in a KO. In boxing, kickboxing, etc. a knockout is usually awarded when one participant falls to the canvas and is unable to rise to his feet within a specified period of time, typically because of exhaustion, pain, disorientation, or unconsciousness. For example, if a boxer is knocked down and is unable to continue the fight within a ten second count, he is counted as having been knocked out and his opponent is awarded the KO victory.
