Numidia
Numidia era um reino bereber-líbio no que hoje é Argélia e uma parte menor do oeste da Tunísia, no norte da África. Numidia originalmente foi dividida entre Massylii no leste e Masaesyli no oeste. Durante a Segunda Guerra Punica, Massinissa, rei dos Massylii, derrotou Syphax dos Masaesyli para unificar Numidia em um reino. O reino começou como um estado soberano e depois alternou entre ser uma província romana e ser um estado cliente romano. Limitou os reinos de Mauretania a oeste, a província romana de África a leste, o mar Mediterrâneo ao norte e o deserto do sahara ao sul. É considerado o primeiro grande estado da história da Argélia e do mundo berbere.
