Estrofe
Uma estrofe é um termo poético que se refere originalmente à primeira parte da ode na tragédia do grego antigo, seguida pela antiestração e epodo. O termo foi estendido para significar também uma divisão estrutural de um poema contendo estrofes de comprimento de linha variável. Em poemas compostos de unidades semelhantes, como poemas épicos, o termo strophic é sinônimo de estrofas. Na sua configuração grega original, "strophe, antistrophe e epode eram uma espécie de estroma enquadrada apenas pela música", como John Milton escreveu no prefácio de Samson Agonistes, com a estropessa cantada por um coro grego enquanto se movia da direita para a esquerda em toda a cena.
