mînjí (mânjésc, mânjít), vb. – A mîzgăli, a unge, a murdări, a păta. Origine îndoielnică. Se consideră
der. din
sl. mažati, mazǫ „a unge” (Miklosich,
Lexicon, 359; Cihac, II, 185; Miklosich,
Slaw. Elem., 29; Tiktin; Conev 96),
cf. sl. maža „unsoare”,
rus. mažatĭ, mažnutĭ „a unge, cu grăsimi”; dar fonetismul e greu de explicat (
cf. der. sl. pomažiti ›
pomăzui). Poate ar trebui să se pornească de la
mîzgă, cum a sugerat Tiktin, prin intermediul unui
der. verbal *
mîzgi. –
