Preconization
O preconizare este o proclamație publică sau un anunț. În acest sens, este practic depășită; dar cuvântul este încă folosit din punct de vedere tehnic pentru proclamarea solemnă a noilor episcopi și a celor pentru care sunt numiți, făcute de papă în constelația cardinalilor. În sens strict juridic, se referă la ratificarea într-un consistoriu public a alegerii făcute de oa treia persoană a unui titular al unui beneficiu conservator, de exemplu o episcopie. Papa aprobă alegerea sau postulatul titularului făcut de un capitol sau ratifică prezentarea unui candidat făcut de puterea civilă. Această preconizație este precedată de un proces informativ care, conform disciplinei actuale, este ridicat de către Congregația Consistorială pentru țările care nu sunt sub Congregația Propagandei, dar informațiile sunt furnizate de către Secretarul de Stat în cazul în care problema în cauză se referă la situația situată în afara din Italia.
