Tailplane
O platformă de acționare, cunoscută și ca stabilizator orizontal, este o mică suprafață de ridicare situată pe coada din spatele suprafețelor principale de ridicare ale unei aeronave cu aripă fixă, precum și a altor aeronave cu aripă fixă, cum ar fi elicoptere și giroscoape. Nu toate avioanele cu aripă fixă au planuri de acoperiș. Canardele, avioanele cu aripi fără zbor și cu avionul nu au nici o planetă separată, în timp ce în aeronava v-tail stabilizatorul vertical, cârma și planul de coadă și liftul sunt combinate pentru a forma două suprafețe diagonale într-un aspect V. Planul din spate oferă stabilitate și control. În plus, planul de cotitură ajută la reglarea schimbărilor în centrul de presiune și în centrul de greutate cauzat de schimbările de viteză și de atitudine sau de arderea combustibilului sau de descărcarea încărcăturii sau a încărcăturii de pe aeronavă.
