Fentanil
Fentanyl, hızlı başlangıç ve kısa etki süresi bulunan güçlü, sentetik bir opioid analjezik maddedir. Μ-opioid reseptörlerinde güçlü bir agonisttir. Geçmişte, atılım ağrısını tedavi etmek için kullanılmıştır ve ön ilaçlar arasında bir ağrı kesici olarak ve aynı zamanda bir benzodiazepin ile kombinasyon halinde bir anestezik olarak kullanılır. Fentanil, doz bazında morfinden yaklaşık 50-100 kat daha güçlüdür. Fentanyl ilk önce Paul Janssen tarafından 1960'da birkaç yıl önce pethidin'in tıbbi başlangıcından sonra sentezlendi.
