Ozmometre
Bir osmometre, bir çözeltinin, koloidin veya bileşiğin ozmotik kuvvetini ölçmek için kullanılan bir cihazdır. Osmometride kullanılan birkaç farklı teknik vardır: ▪ Buhar basıncı depresyon osmometreleri, bir çözeltinin buhar basıncını düşüren ozmotik olarak aktif parçacıkların konsantrasyonunu belirler. Membran osmometreler, saf solventten yarı geçirgen bir zar ile ayrılmış bir çözeltinin ozmotik basıncını ölçer. ▪ Donma noktası depresyon osmometresi, ozmotik olarak aktif bileşikler bir çözeltinin donma noktasına girerken, bir çözeltinin ozmotik gücünü belirlemek için de kullanılabilir. Osmometreler kan veya idrar numunelerindeki çözünmüş tuzların veya şekerlerin konsantrasyonunun belirlenmesinde yararlıdır. Osmometri, bilinmeyen bileşiklerin ve polimerlerin moleküler ağırlığının belirlenmesinde de yararlıdır. Osmometri, bir maddenin ozmotik mukavemetinin ölçümüdür. Bu genellikle kimyagerler tarafından ortalama molekül ağırlığının saptanması için kullanılır.
