Seri konum etkisi, bir kişinin bir serideki ilk ve son öğeleri en iyi ve en kötü orta öğeleri geri çağırma eğilimidir. Terim Hermann Ebbinghaus tarafından kendisi üzerinde yapılan çalışmalarla ortaya atılmış olup, hatırlama doğruluklarının bir çalışma listesindeki bir maddenin yerinin bir fonksiyonu olarak değiştiğini belirtir. Herhangi bir sırada bir öğe listesi çağırmak istediğinde, kullanıcılar listenin sonuna kadar geri çağırmaya başlar ve bu öğeleri en iyi hatırlatır.
