Абатіс
Абатіс, абаттіс або аббаттис є терміном у фортифікації поля для перешкоди, утвореної від гілок дерев, покладених поспіль, з загостреними верхівками, спрямованими назовні, до ворога. Дерева, як правило, переплетені або прив'язані до дроту. Абатис застосовуються поодинці або у поєднанні з дротяними заграваннями та іншими перешкодами. Існує докази того, що воно використовувалось ще в період Римського Імператорського періоду, а також нещодавно як американська громадянська війна. Абатіс рідко зустрічається в наші дні, багато в чому його замінили перешкодами на дріт. Однак він може використовуватися як заміна або доповнення, коли колючого дроту не вистачає. Форма гігантського абатису, що використовує цілі дерева замість гілок, може бути використана як імпровізована протитанкова перешкода.
