Struma

Струма, стародавній Стримон - річка в західній Болгарії і північній Греції, у водозбірні Егейського моря. Довжина - 415 км, водозбірна площа - 10 797 км ², середній потік 76167 м³ / с. Джерела Струми знаходяться на висоті 2180 м. на південних схилах масиву Вітоша. Звідти річка тече на захід через Родопу, перетинає місто Пернік, потім обертається на південь і тече через Кюстенділ і Благоєвград. На болгарсько-грецькому кордоні річка пробивається через ущелину між Беласикою і Словиця. У Греції долина Strumy розширюється, річка будує досить складну систему гілок і постачає штучне озеро Керкіні. Струма спускається до затоки Тангер. Річки багато і маленькі. Найбільші - Йорман, Струміца та Ангіти. У болгарській частині долини Струма є кам'яновугільний басейн. У грецькій частині долини існує інтенсивне землеробство.

Struma, starożytny Strymon – rzeka w zachodniej Bułgarii i w północnej Grecji, w zlewisku Morza Egejskiego. Długość – 415 km, powierzchnia zlewni – 10 797 km², średni przepływ 76,167 m³/s. Źródła Strumy znajdują się na wysokości 2180 m n.p.m. na południowych stokach masywu Witoszy. Stamtąd rzeka płynie na zachód przez Rodopy, przecina miasto Pernik, po czym skręca na południe i płynie przez Kiustendił i Błagojewgrad. Na granicy bułgarsko-greckiej rzeka przełamuje się przez wąwóz między masywami Belasicy i Sławjanki. W Grecji dolina Strumy znacznie się poszerza, rzeka buduje dość skomplikowany system odnóg i zasila sztuczne jezioro Kerkini. Struma uchodzi do Zatoki Orfańskiej Morza Trackiego. Dopływy Strumy są liczne i drobne. Największe z nich to Dżerman, Strumica i Angitis. W bułgarskiej części doliny Strumy znajduje się zagłębie węgla kamiennego. W greckiej części doliny prowadzi się intensywne rolnictwo.
