দ্বৈতবাদ দুটি অংশ একটি রাষ্ট্র নির্দেশক। 'ডুয়ালিজম' শব্দটি মূলত সহ-শাশ্বত বাইনারি বিরোধী, যা অর্থশাস্ত্রীয় ও দার্শনিক দ্বৈত বক্তৃতাতে সংরক্ষিত রয়েছে, তা বোঝানোর জন্য উদ্ভূত হয়েছিল, কিন্তু দুটি প্রয়োজনীয় অংশগুলি সমন্বিত করে এমন একটি সিস্টেম নির্দেশ করার জন্য অন্যান্য ব্যবহারে আরও সাধারণকরণ করা হয়েছে। নৈতিক দ্বৈতবাদ দয়াময় এবং অভিশপ্ত মধ্যে মহান সম্পূরক বা দ্বন্দ্ব বিশ্বাস। এটা কেবলই বোঝায় যে কর্মক্ষেত্রে দুটি নৈতিক দ্বন্দ্ব রয়েছে, যা "নৈতিক" হতে পারে এবং কিভাবে এইগুলি উপস্থাপিত হতে পারে তার স্বাধীনতার কোন ব্যাখ্যা থেকে স্বাধীন। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, নৈতিক বিপরীতরাও এমন একটি বিশ্ব দৃষ্টিতে বিদ্যমান যা এক এক ঈশ্বর, একাধিক দেবতা বা অন্য কেউ নয়। বিপরীতভাবে, দ্বীতিবাদ বা বিটাইমবাদ দুটি দেবতা বোঝায়। বিহাইস্তবাদ সাদৃশ্য বোঝায়, দ্বীতিবাদ প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা এবং বিরোধী, যেমন ভাল এবং মন্দ, বা উজ্জ্বল এবং গাঢ়, বা গ্রীষ্ম এবং শীতকালীন মধ্যে বোঝা যায়। উদাহরণস্বরূপ, একটি ditheistic সিস্টেম এক যা একটি ঈশ্বর সৃজনশীল হবে, অন্য ধ্বংসাত্মক হয়। বিকল্পভাবে, আণবিক দ্বৈতবাদে, দুনিয়া দুটো বর্ধিত শ্রেণিতে বিভক্ত।
