ইউরোপীয় সাম্রাজ্যবাদ ইউরোপীয় কমিউনিস্ট পার্টিগুলির মধ্যে পশ্চিমা ইউরোপীয় দেশের জন্য আরো প্রাসঙ্গিক এবং সোভিয়েত ইউনিয়ন কমিউনিষ্ট পার্টির প্রভাব বা নিয়ন্ত্রণের সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ যে সামাজিক রূপান্তর একটি তত্ত্ব এবং অনুশীলন বিকাশ বিভিন্ন পশ্চিমা ইউরোপীয় কমিউনিষ্ট পার্টির মধ্যে 1970 এবং 1980 সালে একটি প্রবণতা ছিল। পশ্চিম ইউরোপের বাইরে, এটি কখনও কখনও "Neocommunism" নামে পরিচিত। এই তত্ত্ব বৃহত্তর স্বাধীনতা জোর দেয়।
