মিশরের মোহাম্মদ আলী
মুহাম্মদ আলী পাশা আল-মাসউদ ইবনে আঘা অটোমান বাহিনীর অটোমান আলবানীয় কমান্ডার ছিলেন, যিনি ওয়ালি ছিলেন এবং অটোম্যানের অস্থায়ী অনুমোদনের সাথে মিশর ও সুদানের খোদে স্ব-ঘোষিত ছিলেন। যদিও আধুনিক জাতীয়তাবাদী না হলেও তিনি সামরিক, অর্থনৈতিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক জগতের নাটকীয় সংস্কারের কারণে আধুনিক মিসরের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা হিসেবে পরিচিত হন। তিনি মিসরের বাইরে লেভান্টান্টীয় অঞ্চল শাসন করেছিলেন। তিনি যে রাজবংশ স্থাপন করেছিলেন সেটি মিসর ও সুদানকে 195২ সালের মিশরীয় বিপ্লবের আগে মুহম্মদ নাগীবের নেতৃত্বে পরিচালিত করেছিল।
