একটি polemic / শিরোনাম / একটি বিতর্কমূলক যুক্তি যে একটি নির্দিষ্ট বোঝার সত্য এবং বিপরীত অবস্থানের falsity স্থাপন করার উদ্দেশ্যে করা হয়। বেশিরভাগ বিতর্কিত বিষয় নিয়ে বিতর্ক দেখা যায়। এই ধরনের বিতর্কের শিল্প বা অভ্যাসকে বলা হয় বিতর্ক। একটি ব্যক্তি প্রায়ই বহুবিধ রচনা লিখেছেন, অথবা যিনি ধর্মীয়ভাবে কথা বলছেন, এটি একটি পল্লিমিকবাদী বা একটি বিতর্কমূলক। শব্দটি গ্রিক πολεμικός থেকে এসেছে, যার অর্থ "যুদ্ধক্ষেত্র, প্রতিকূল", যা πόλεμος থেকে আসে, "যুদ্ধ"।
