অভিধানে অগ্রাধিকারের প্রথম সংজ্ঞা হল পছন্দ করার কাজ। পছন্দ অন্য সংজ্ঞা কিছু বা কেউ পছন্দসই হয়। প্রিভিরিটি আগে বা অন্যের বর্জনের বাইরে এক বা একাধিক ঋণগ্রহীতার দাবির নিষ্পত্তি করা হয়।
