প্রচার জনসাধারণের মনোভাবকে কিছু কারণে বা অবস্থানের প্রতি প্রভাবিত করার লক্ষ্যে যোগাযোগের একটি প্রকার। প্রচারটি এমন তথ্য যা নিরপেক্ষ নয় এবং মূলত একটি শ্রোতাদের প্রভাবিত করার জন্য এবং একটি বিষয়সূচিকে আরও এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য, বিশেষ করে একটি নির্দিষ্ট সংশ্লেষণকে উৎসাহ দেওয়ার জন্য বা লোডযুক্ত বার্তা ব্যবহার করে উপস্থাপিত তথ্যগুলির যৌক্তিক প্রতিক্রিয়ার পরিবর্তে অনুভূতি সৃষ্টিকারী বাছাই করে একটি বিষয়সূচি উপস্থাপন করে। প্রচার মতাদর্শিক বা বাণিজ্যিক যুদ্ধবিগ্রহের একটি ফর্ম হিসাবে ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। যদিও শব্দটি প্রবাদটি তার সর্বাধিক ম্যানিপুল্যাট এবং জিংগোস্টিক উদাহরণগুলির সাথে সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণভাবে জোরালো নেতিবাচক ধারণা অর্জন করেছে, তবে তার মূল অর্থে প্রচারটি নিরপেক্ষ ছিল এবং সাধারণভাবে সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত বা অপ্রত্যাশিত ব্যবহারগুলি যেমন জনস্বাস্থ্যের সুপারিশ, নাগরিকদের উত্সাহী করে তুলতে ব্যবহার করে। একটি জনসংখ্যা বা নির্বাচনে অংশগ্রহন করুন, অথবা অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থার অপরাধের রিপোর্ট করার জন্য উৎসাহিত ব্যক্তিদের বার্তা।
