কোরিয়েড হিমিপটারের উপমেন্দ্র হিটরপটারে অন্তর্গত প্রধানত প্রাণঘাতী পোকামাকড়ের একটি বড় পরিবার। 270 টিরও বেশি প্রজন্মে 1,900 প্রজাতি রয়েছে। তারা 7 থেকে 45 মিমি পর্যন্ত মাপের আকার ধারণ করে, যার ফলে বৃহত্তর প্রজাতির কয়েকটি বৃহৎ হেক্টরপেত্রান তৈরি হয়। কোরিডের শরীরের আকৃতিটি বেশ পরিবর্তনশীল, কিছু প্রজাতির বিস্তৃতভাবে ডিম্বাকৃতির এবং অন্যদিকে সরু হয়। কোরিয়েডস সারা বিশ্বে পাওয়া যায় কিন্তু বেশিরভাগ প্রজাতিই উষ্ণতা ও উপগ্রহগুলির মধ্যে পাওয়া যায়। উত্তর আমেরিকায় তারা "স্কোয়াশ বাগ" নামে পরিচিত, কারণ কিছু প্রজাতি, যেমন আনাস ট্রিস্টিস, স্কোয়াশ গাছপালা এবং অন্যান্য cucurbits এর কীটপতঙ্গ আছে। কিছু প্রজাতির তাদের hindlegs আছে পাতা যেমন বিস্তার হিসাবে তারা "পাতা পাদদেশ বাগ" বলা হয়। কিছু কোরিয়েড, যেমন ফিলোমোফার লিসিনিটা, তাদের ডিম বহন করে পিতামাতার যত্ন প্রদর্শন করা। এই আচরণ প্যারাসিটিজম থেকে ডিম রক্ষা করতে পারে।
