আলফা 1 টি antitrypsin একটি আণবিক ওজন 45,000, 3.41 এস এর অবক্ষেপন সমমান, এবং 12.4% এর একটি চিনির উপাদান, α1 গ্লবুলিনের ½ এর হিসাব করে। এটি লিভারের কোষে সংশ্লেষিত এবং এন্টিট্র্রিপসিন ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। এটি পলিফুলার লিউকোসাইট, ম্যাক্রোফেজ এবং ব্যাক্টেরিয়া থেকে মুক্ত protease বা esterase কর্মের বাধা দেয়। এটি জানা যায় যে ২0 টিরও বেশি ফিনোটাইপগুলি অ্যাসিড স্টার্ল জেল ইলেক্ট্রোফোরিসিস দ্বারা প্রকাশ করা হয় এবং ইমিউনোয়েট্রেফোরোসিস (পিআই সিস্টেম) অতিক্রম করে। 알파1앤티트립신 분자량 45, 000, 침강 계수(沈降係數) 3.41S, 당함량(糖含量) 12.4%로서 α1글로불린의 ½을 차지한다. 간 세포에서 합성되어 항트립신작용을 지니며, 다핵백혈구(多核白血球), 대식세포, 세균에서 유리된 프로테아제(protease)나 에스테라제(esterase)의 작용을 저해한다. acid starch gel electrophoresis와 crossed immunoelectrophoresis에 의하여 20종류이상의 표현형 phonotype가 존재한다는 것이 알려져 있다(Pi system).
