অর্জিত ইমিউন ডিফিসিয়েন্সি সিনড্রোম (ইংরেজি: অ্যাকসিডেড ইমিউন ডেফিসিয়েন্সি সিনড্রোম) এইচআইভি ভাইরাস দ্বারা সৃষ্ট গুরুতর রোগ (ইংরেজি: হিউম্যান ইমিউনোডফেসিসিয়ান ভাইরাস)। এইডস এইচআইভি ভাইরাস দ্বারা সৃষ্ট হয় যা প্রতিরোধ ও প্রতিষেধক সিস্টেম ধ্বংস করে। এইচআইভি ভাইরাস শরীরের প্রতিরক্ষা সিস্টেম ধ্বংস করে যখন একজন ব্যক্তি এইডস পায়। ত্রুটিপূর্ণ শরীরের প্রতিরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা ব্যক্তিরা সহজে ব্যাকটেরিয়া এবং অন্যান্য ভাইরাস দ্বারা আক্রান্ত হতে পারে যা গুরুতর অসুস্থতা সৃষ্টি করতে পারে।

Sindrom Kurang Daya Tahan Melawan Penyakit atau lebih dikenali sebagai AIDS (bahasa Inggeris: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) (Sindrom Kelemahan/Kekurangan Imun Perolehan atau "SKIP")) ialah satu penyakit serius disebabkan oleh virus HIV (bahasa Inggeris: Human Immunodeficiency Virus). AIDS disebabkan oleh virus HIV yang menyerang dan memusnahkan daya ketahanan badan. Seseorang individu mendapat AIDS apabila virus HIV merosakkan sistem pertahanan tubuh badan. Sistem pertahanan badan yang tidak berfungsi menjadikan individu mudah dijangkiti bakteria dan virus-virus lain yang boleh menyebabkan sakit teruk.
