Achromatopsie
Achromatopsie ist ein medizinisches Syndrom, das Symptome in Bezug auf mindestens fünf getrennte individuelle Störungen aufweist. Obwohl der Begriff sich auf erworbene Störungen wie zerebrale Achromatopsien beziehen kann, die auch als Farb-Agnosie bekannt sind, bezieht sie sich typischerweise auf eine autosomal-rezessive kongenitale Farbsektionsstörung, die Unfähigkeit, Farbe zu erkennen und eine zufriedenstellende Sehschärfe bei hohen Lichtniveaus zu erzielen. Das Syndrom ist auch in einer unvollständigen Form vorhanden, die besser als Dyschromatopsie definiert ist. Die einzige Schätzung ihres relativen Vorkommens von 1: 33.000 in der allgemeinen Bevölkerung stammt aus den 1960er Jahren oder früher. Es gibt einige Diskussionen darüber, ob Achromaten Farbe sehen können oder nicht. Wie auf der Insel der Colorblind von Oliver Sacks veranschaulicht, können einige Achromaten keine Farbe sehen, nur schwarz, weiß und grau.
