Adapter
Ein Adapter oder Adapter ist ein Gerät, das Attribute eines Gerätes oder Systems mit denen eines ansonsten inkompatiblen Geräts oder Systems umwandelt. Der Begriff wird häufig verwendet, um sich auf Wechselstromadapter zu beziehen. Andere Adapter können elektrische Eigenschaften beeinflussen: ▪ Ein Wechselstromadapter, der auch als Aufladegerät bezeichnet wird, passt den elektrischen Hausstrom von Hochspannung zu Niederspannung an, die für die Unterhaltungselektronik geeignet ist. Diese Adapter werden durch die Umwandlung von Wechselstrom in Gleichstrom erwärmen, sind aber sicher für die Umwelt und können monatelangen kontinuierlich länger dauern.
