Amadou
Amadou ist eine schwammige, brennbare Substanz, die aus Klammerpilzen hergestellt wird. Die Art, die allgemein verwendet wird, ist Fomes fomentarius, die auf Englisch auch Pferdehufpilz oder Zunderpilz genannt wird. Die Amadou-Schicht kann oben auf dem Pilz direkt unterhalb der Außenhaut und oberhalb der Poren gefunden werden. Es wird als Zunder verwendet und auch beim Schwelen als tragbarer Feuerzeug verwendet. Es wird auch im Fliegenfischen zum Austrocknen von künstlichen Fliegen verwendet. Es wird manchmal auch verwendet, um ein Filz-artiges Gewebe zu bilden, das bei der Herstellung von Hüten und anderen Gegenständen verwendet wird. Es hat große wasserabsorbierende Fähigkeiten. Amadou für trockene Fliegen kann durch Einweichen der Amadou-Schicht in Wasch-Soda für eine Woche vorbereitet werden es sanft von Zeit zu Zeit vorbereitet werden. Danach muss es getrocknet werden, und wenn es trocken ist, muss es mit einem stumpfen Gegenstand geschlagen werden, um es zu erweichen und es zu glätten.
