Athetose
Athetose ist ein Symptom, das durch langsame, unwillkürliche, gewundene, sich wandelnde Bewegungen der Finger, Hände, Zehen und Füße und in manchen Fällen von Waffen, Beinen, Nacken und Zunge gekennzeichnet ist. Für die Athetose typische Bewegungen werden manchmal als Athetoidbewegungen bezeichnet. Läsionen für das Gehirn sind meist die unmittelbare Ursache der Symptome, besonders des Corpus striatum. Dieses Symptom tritt nicht alleine auf und wird oft von den Symptomen der Zerebralparese begleitet, da es oft ein Resultat dieser Krankheit ist. Behandlungen für Athetose sind nicht sehr effektiv, und in den meisten Fällen sind einfach auf die unkontrollierbare Bewegung gerichtet, anstatt die Ursache selbst.
