Mikhail Bakunin
Michail Alexandrowitsch Bakunin war ein russischer revolutionärer Anarchist und Gründer des kollektivistischen Anarchismus. Er gilt als einer der einflussreichsten Figuren des Anarchismus und einer der Hauptgründer der "sozial-anarchistischen" Tradition. Bakunins enormes Prestige als Aktivist machte ihn zu einem der berühmtesten Ideologen Europas, und er gewann einen wesentlichen Einfluss auf Radikale in ganz Russland und Europa. Bakunin wuchs in Pryamukhino auf, ein Familienbesitz in Tver Governorate, wo er die Philosophie studierte und begann, die französischen Enzyklopädie zu lesen, was zu Begeisterung für die Philosophie von Fichte führte. Von Fichte ging Bakunin weiter in die Werke von Hegel, dem einflussreichsten Denker der damaligen deutschen Intellektuellen. Das führte zu seiner Umarmung des Hegelianismus, die von Hegels berühmter Maxime geblendet wurde: "Alles, was existiert, ist rational." Im Jahre 1840 reiste Bakunin nach St. Petersburg und Berlin mit der Absicht, sich für eine Professur in Philosophie oder Geschichte an der Universität Moskau vorzubereiten. 1842 zog Bakunin von Berlin nach Dresden. Schließlich kam er in Paris an, wo er Pierre-Joseph Proudhon und Karl Marx traf.
