Bareboat-Charter
Eine Bareboat-Charter ist eine Vereinbarung für die Charterung oder Einstellung eines Schiffes oder Bootes, wobei keine Besatzung oder Bestimmungen als Teil der Vereinbarung enthalten sind; Stattdessen sind die Leute, die das Schiff vom Besitzer mieten, dafür verantwortlich, auf solche Dinge aufzupassen. Es gibt rechtliche Unterschiede zwischen einem Bareboat-Charter und anderen Arten von Charter-Arrangements, die gemeinhin als Zeit- oder Reisecharter bezeichnet werden. In einer Reise- oder Zeitcharter chartern der Charterer das Schiff für eine bestimmte Reise oder für einen festgelegten Zeitraum. In diesen Chartern kann der Charterer an der Stelle, wo das Schiff gehen wird, aber der Besitzer des Schiffes behält den Besitz des Schiffes durch seinen Einsatz von Meister und Besatzung. In einem Bare-Boot- oder Demate-Charter, auf der anderen Seite, der Besitzer gibt Besitz des Schiffes an den Charterer und der Charterer beauftragt seinen eigenen Meister und Besatzung. Der Charterboot wird manchmal als "Besitzer" bezeichnet. Das Aufgeben des Besitzes des Schiffes durch den Besitzer ist das entscheidende Merkmal eines Bareboats oder eines Demoscharter.
