Karl Barth
Karl Barth (1886-05-10) 10. Mai 1886 - 10. Dezember 1968 (1968-12-10) war ein Schweizer Reformierter Theologe. Barth wird oft als der größte protestantische Theologe des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts angesehen. Sein Einfluß erweitert sich weit über das akademische Reich hinaus, um die Kultur zu betreiben, was ihn auf den Deckel der Zeit am 20. April 1962 vorstellte. Beginnend mit seiner Erfahrung als Pfarrer verwarf Barth seine Ausbildung in der vorherrschenden liberalen Theologie, die für das 19. Jahrhundert typisch war Europäischer Protestantismus, sowie konservativere Formen des Christentums. Stattdessen startete er einen neuen theologischen Weg, der anfangs als dialektische Theologie bezeichnet wurde, aufgrund seines Stresses auf die paradoxe Natur der göttlichen Wahrheit (z. B. Gottes Verhältnis zur Menschheit verkörpert sowohl Gnade als auch Urteil). Barths Unbehagen mit der dominierenden Theologie, die Europa kennzeichnete, führte ihn dazu, ein Führer in der Bekennenden Kirche in Deutschland zu werden, der sich aktiv gegen Adolf Hitler und das Nazi-Regime einsetzte. Insbesondere haben Barth und andere Mitglieder der Bewegung kräftig versucht, die Nazis daran zu hindern, die bestehende Kirche zu übernehmen und eine vom Regime kontrollierte Staatskirche zu gründen.
