Post-kreolisches Kontinuum
Das post-kreolische Kontinuum oder einfach kreolisches Kontinuum bezieht sich auf eine Situation, in der eine kreolische Sprache aus einem Spektrum von Sorten besteht, die zwischen denen am meisten und am wenigsten ähnlich der Superstrate-Sprache sind. Wegen sozialer, politischer und ökonomischer Faktoren kann sich eine kreolische Sprache in Richtung einer der Sprachen, von denen sie abstammen, verkürzen, ihre Morphologie, Phonologie und Syntax an den lokalen Standard der dominanten Sprache anpassen, aber je nach Sprecher in unterschiedlichem Maße Status.
